New President for ARO following retirement

Chateau Du Loir, FRANCE – 5 November 2009

ARO Group, the leading automotive welding machines specialist, announced today that it has appointed Jean-Yves David as its new President. Mr David, currently the group’s Sales & Marketing Director, will move into the post on 1st February 2010, when ARO’s current President, Jean Pierre Mereau, retires.

Mr David joined the ARO group in 1997 and was formerly Managing Director of ARO Controls SAS, the group’s automation control division, before being invited to join the main Board in 2007. Prior to joining the ARO group he spent 8 years with a leading supplier equipment company specialising in radiology equipment, in project management, technical and marketing roles. Educated in France, Germany and the United States, Jean Yves is fluent in German and English, as well as his native French language. In the role of President he will be responsible for ARO’s headquarters operations in France and for its international network of subsidiaries.

Bio
Born in Strasbourg, France, in 1965, Jean-Yves David moved with the family to Germany where he completed his basic education. Returning to France in 1983 to enrol at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC) he obtained a French engineering degree in Biomedical engineering. Moving to the United States in 1987 he studied for his Master of Science degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, where he graduated in 1989. In his leisure time he enjoys fine wines and cuisine, long distance running and in the winter months, back country skiing. Jean Yves lives in the city of Tours in the Loire region of France, with his wife and daughter.
