Operations at one of the UK\u2019s vital Covid-19 Test and Trace Lighthouse Laboratories are set for acceleration following the rapid and successful completion of complex leasing arrangements between Langley Holdings plc (Langley), headquartered in Retford, Nottinghamshire and Newcastle-upon-Tyne NHS Foundation Trust.<\/p>\n

Advising Langley on the project was Knights plc\u2019s Asset Management Team who completed a complex suite of documents between Langley and Newcastle-upon-Tyne NHS Foundation Trust.<\/p>\n

Langley\u2019s Baltic Park is a new 6-acre industrial and warehousing development in Gateshead. It was identified\u00a0as an ideal facility for a Lighthouse Laboratory<\/a>\u00a0following the announcement of plans for a North East testing centre in September 2020.<\/p>\n

The Lighthouse Laboratory will serve a hugely critical role in combating the Covid-19 pandemic in the region. The Gateshead facility will be leased for 5 years<\/p>\n

William Langley, Director, Langley Holdings plc, said: “Langley is privileged to be involved in this vital public health project in the battle against Covid-19. We are grateful to the Knights plc team for their dedication and focus on the swift completion of these complex negotiations.”.<\/p>\n

Erin Vickers, Partner, Knights plc, said: \u201cThis was a time-critical and sensitive project for all parties concerned. Our priority was to ensure a smooth negotiation process with the best possible outcome for our client and its tenants\u201d.<\/p>\n

The multimillion-pound\u00a0Lighthouse Laboratory development<\/a>\u00a0was approved by Health Secretary Matt Hancock. It will strengthen the region’s resilience and response to the Coronavirus pandemic. The project is expected to create up to 1,000 local jobs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

About Lighthouse Laboratories<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Lighthouse Laboratory is a high throughput facility that is dedicated to COVID-19 testing for the National Testing Programme.<\/p>\n

The Lighthouse Laboratories were set up by experienced scientific executives and technical leaders with decades of experience. The rapid and sustained growth and independent quality assessments is evidence of this.<\/p>\n
