Piller hosts 3rd global Power Solutions symposium.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

More than 40 senior executives from Langley Holdings\u2019 Bergen Engines, Marelli Motori and Piller subsidiaries convened last week for the third annual Power Solutions Symposium at Piller Group headquarters in the Harz Mountains town of Osterode, in Germany.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event was attended by group chairman & CEO Anthony Langley and main board directors, Bernard and William Langley. In his opening address the chairman cut straight to the numbers:<\/p>\n

\u201cAt Datacloud Global Congress in Cannes last year we signed our first BTM [behind-the-meter] deal for two hundred megawatts. Twelve months on, we have signed more than three gigawatts of BTM power deals for AI data centre\u2019s across the USA. Today, our development pipeline extends to tens of gigawatts \u2013 underlining both the scale of demand and the critical role BTM power is playing in enabling AI.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBTM power plants are the picks and shovels of this modern day gold rush<\/em>\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The two-day gathering tackled one of the AI era\u2019s defining challenges: delivering reliable, independent behind-the-meter (BTM) power for hyperscale data centres. Presentations zeroed in on surging BTM demand as grid infrastructure strains under unprecedented AI demand, with updates on the division\u2019s latest innovations \u2013 including Piller SHIELD-X, the intelligent system built to manage the extreme transient loads of large-scale AI compute.<\/p>\n

Langley also confirmed the group is scaling manufacturing across Norway, Italy and Germany, targeting annual production of more than two gigawatts of BTM power by 2028.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Langley Holdings will be hosting new customers on an immersive factory experience across all three countries in just 72 hours from the fall \u2013 including live demonstrations in the new Bergen Engines demonstration area, where a 12.5MW Bergen gas engine will run integrated with Piller\u2019s SHIELD-X stabilisation technology under real-world conditions.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite we have been manufacturing engines and building power plants for more that half a century, many of the players in this space had never heard of Bergen Engines a year ago<\/em>\u201d William Langley commented. He went on:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are going to be having a ten, twenty, maybe longer, years relationship with these new BTM customers.\u00a0This is base-load power\u00a0and our engines are going to be running for over 8,000 hours a year. These guys need to get to know us and vice versa<\/em>\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The symposium closed with tours of Piller\u2019s Osterode and Bilshausen facilities and an evening dinner, giving colleagues from across the group\u2019s global operations opportunity to relax and reflect on the packed schedule.<\/p>\n
