Shaping the future of grid-free independent power for AI<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arzignano, 13th May 2025 \u2014 Marelli Motori hosted the second annual Langley Holdings Power Solutions Division Symposium last week, bringing together Managing Directors and senior executives from the group\u2019s Bergen Engines, Piller Power Systems and Marelli Motori subsidiaries.<\/p>\n

Executives from across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Australia, South Africa and Singapore attended the two-day event, held this year in Italy.<\/p>\n

The symposium was opened by Mr Anthony Langley, Chairman & CEO of Langley Holdings plc, accompanied by second generation Main Board Directors, William and Bernard Langley.<\/p>\n

In his keynote, Mr Langley emphasised the growing significance of AI data centers, anticipating strong future demand for the Division\u2019s technologies.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the Division\u2019s legacy, built through key acquisitions over the last 20 years and Bergen Engines\u2019 evolution from marine propulsion to land-based power generation.<\/p>\n

A central focus was the Division\u2019s strategic positioning to provide high-output, independent power solutions for the data center sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a remarkable pedigree and are the Gold Standard in critical power,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Mr. Langley said. \u201cFrom the Federal Reserve and Bank of England to the New York Stock Exchange, the ECB and the CIA, our systems are trusted at the highest level.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Langley cited a standout example in Western Australia: a remote 170-megawatt gas fired power plant combined with 150 megawatts of solar, located more than 100 kilometers from the nearest grid connection. \u201cIt\u2019s a blueprint for what\u2019s possible<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He also revealed that the Division had received its first order to provide a 100MW grid-independent power solution for the data center sector, just four weeks after first contact. \u201cThat level of speed and responsiveness is going to become the norm. We have to be ready<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

To meet this growing demand, Langley announced plans to expand engine production capacity at Bergen Engines and alternator production from Marelli Motori, stepping up investment in long-lead components such as castings and crankshafts. \u201cSpeed to market is vital. Enquires are turning into firm orders in a matter of weeks<\/em>,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, the Power Solutions Division will be presenting at\u00a0Datacloud Global Congress 2025<\/a>\u00a0in Cannes, June 3rd \u2013 5th. The event will be attended by leaders from across the rapidly emerging AI data center space, focused on energy resilience, Time-to-Power and sustainability.<\/p>\n

Concluding his remarks, Mr. Langley said, \u201cThe future looks very bright<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two-day symposium included a series of focused presentations highlighting synergies and emerging opportunities across the Division \u2014 many of which are now coming to fruition.<\/p>\n

Day one concluded with a tour of a local winery in the nearby Amarone district followed by a dinner set in the stunning Veneto region, providing the perfect backdrop for continued dialogue and collaboration.<\/p>\n
