Stephanie’s Story

In November 2018 my lovely Grandad was diagnosed with mesothelioma, a rare and aggressive form of lung cancer which affects around 2,500 people per year in the UK. Exposure to asbestos is responsible most of mesothelioma cases, and has been the cause of my Grandad's illness as a result of his work when he was in his early 20s. I want to show my support to a man who has always supported me in any way that can make even a small difference by giving back to the amazing people that work hard to make this difficult time as comfortable as possible. I’ll be running my first half marathon on 19th May to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. They fulfil a vital role in ensuring that when cancer strikes there will always be someone to help you feel that you are not alone and to provide advice and support at such a traumatic time.
