Langley Holdings
More than 40 CEOs, Managing Directors and senior executives from Langley, Bergen Engines, Marelli Motori and Piller Power Systems gathered last week at the Langley Holdings’ third annual Power Solutions Symposium, hosted at the Group’s Piller headquarters in Osterode, Germany.
The two-day event brought together colleagues from around the world to discuss one of the defining challenges of the AI era – delivering reliable, independent behind-the-meter (BTM) power for the next generation of hyperscale AI data centres.
Presentations focused on the accelerating demand for BTM power solutions as traditional grid infrastructure struggles to keep pace with unprecedented AI growth. Delegates also received updates on the Group’s latest technological developments, including Piller SHIELD-X , the intelligent technology that manages the transient loads associated with large-scale AI computing.
Opening the symposium, Langley Holdings Chairman and CEO Anthony Langley reflected on the remarkable advances the Group has made in the past year.
“At Datacloud Global Congress last year we announced our first 300MW gas-fired power solution, combining Bergen Engines, Marelli Motori and Piller stabilisation technology.
Twelve months later, our ‘Power Guys’, as the team became known in Cannes, have secured more than 3GW of behind-the-meter power orders for AI data centres across the United States.”
“That success reflects the speed at which AI infrastructure is evolving and the growing need for alternatives to conventional grid connections. Today our development pipeline extends to tens of gigawatts of AI data centre power opportunities, underlining both the scale of demand and the critical role behind-the-meter power will play in enabling AI growth.”
Langley also announced that the Group is expanding manufacturing capacity across its factories in Norway, Italy and Germany and expects to produce more than 2GW of behind-the-meter power solutions annually from 2028.
Beyond the symposium, Langley Holdings will offer hyperscale AI data centre customers a comprehensive factory experience, with visits to its manufacturing facilities in Norway, Italy and German. The programme will include demonstrations on the new Bergen Engines test bed, where a Bergen gas engine is integrated with Piller’s SHIELD-X dynamic power stabiliser, giving customers the opportunity to see the complete power solution operating under real-world conditions.
The symposium concluded with guided tours of Piller’s manufacturing facilities in Osterode and Bilshausen, followed by an evening dinner where delegates strengthened relationships with colleagues, customers and partners from across the Group’s global business.
